Terms of use

What we are

The Wedding Planner is a marketplace. Businesses list what they offer; couples find it, ask about it, book a visit or reserve a date. The wedding itself - the hall, the flowers, the photographs - is provided by the business you book, under the terms it sets and shows on its listing. We run the platform, check that businesses are licensed, and hold both sides to these terms.

Accounts

You must be 18 or over. Keep your password to yourself; what is done from your account is your responsibility until you tell us it has been compromised. You may use the service without an account for browsing, for a guest booking or a visit request and for chatting with a business about it; in that case your booking reference and mobile number are the key to your booking, and you should treat them as such.

Bookings and visits

A booking request is a request. It holds the date while the business answers; it becomes a booking when the business accepts it and, where a deposit is asked, when that deposit is paid. The business decides its own deposit, its notice period and its cancellation window, and shows them on its listing before you book. One payment through the platform is never more than AED 5,000; anything above that is settled between you and the business. A visit request is confirmed, declined with a reason, or answered with an alternative time.

Payments

Payments made through the platform are processed by our payment provider. A deposit paid is credited to the booking and shown on its invoice. Refunds follow the business's cancellation terms as shown when you booked. Businesses pay a subscription for their listing; there is no commission on bookings.

Businesses

A business must hold a valid UAE trade licence for what it lists and keep it current; a listing goes live only after our team has checked it, and comes down if the licence lapses. The business is responsible for the accuracy of its listing - prices, capacities, photographs - and for honouring bookings it accepts. A business may reply to a review and may keep a review off its own page; it may not alter or remove one. Subscriptions are bought and managed in the business dashboard on the web.

Reviews and content

Reviews must be your own and about a booking you made. We remove reviews that are not, and content that is abusive, unlawful or someone else's. By posting photos or text you give us the right to show them within the platform.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape the service, probe it, overload it, misrepresent who you are, or use it for anything other than planning and providing events. We rate-limit and may suspend accounts that do.

Our responsibility, and its limits

We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill. We are not party to the contract between a couple and a business and are not responsible for the service the business provides. Where the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid through the platform for the booking concerned.

Changes and the law

We may change these terms; the date at the top says when. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Questions go to hello@theweddingplanner.ae.
